1. Q: What should I do if I have happen to miss my scheduled ferry departure time?

A: If you happen to miss your scheduled departure time, please contact PHIFT Ferry Operator at +607 5600 542 (Tg. Balai Karimun) or at +607 5600 538 (Harbour Bay, Batam).

A: The estimated journey time to Tanjung Balai is 1 hour 20 min (However, the times may vary depending on the sea level)

5. Q: How long does the journey via ferry takes to Batam, Indonesia from Puteri Harbour Ferry Terminal?

A: The estimated journey time to Batam is 1 hour 45 min (However, the times may vary depending on the sea level)

6. Q: Do you have a ferry that travels between PHIFT and Singapore?

A: Currently, we do not offer that service and are looking to introduce it in the future

7. Q: How long do I need to be at the terminal prior to departure?

A: Passengers are advised to be at the terminal at least 45 minutes before departure time and the departure gate is closed 15 minutes before departure.

8. Q: Are the passengers insured?

A: Yes, all ferry passengers with a valid ticket on board are insured during their journey and it is the Ferry Operator’s responsibility to purchase the insurance under the Regulation of Marine Department Malaysia.

9. Q: What ferries are you using?

A: We are using high speed ferries with average speed of 20 knots for all destinations. Currently, we have 3 ferries with capacities of 123 seater, 130 seater and 170 seater.

10. Q: What are the age-limits of children for travelling on their own?

A: Children who are and over the age of 17 years old are allowed to travel on their own. Children under the age of 17 years are required to be accompanied by their parents or guardians.

11. Q: Am I allowed to bring my medication onboard?

A: Yes, you are allowed to bring your medication onboard. As per Malaysia’s Ministry of Health regulations, you are required to declare your medication at the check-in counter and you will need to bring along a supporting letter from your doctor.

12. Q: Can I bring my bicycle onboard with me?

A: Yes. You are permitted to bring your bike at your own risk and as long as it does not pose a risk to other passengers.

13. Q: Are pets allowed onboard?

A: No. Pets are not allowed onboard, under any circumstances, due to the Ferry Operator’s Terms and Regulations.

14. Q: What currency can I use to pay for snacks and beverages onboard?

A: All snacks and beverages sold onboard can be purchased using Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and Indonesian Rupiah (IDR).

15. Q: Do you provide vessel charter?

A: No, Vessel charters are not available at the moment.
